PM Modi has a huge fan following and his admirers span across all age groups. Recently we saw another ‘fan moment’. PM Modi was rewarding people on stage where one of them was this old lady Ramrati. On receiving her certificate, the old woman did something that left both PM Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath surprised.
Watch what happened in the video below.
Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awaas Yojana (PMGAY) is a social welfare program, launched by the Indian Government, to provide housing for the rural poor in India. It was launched in 2015 as Housing for All by 2022.
Previously it was Indira Awaas Yojana which was launched by Rajiv Gandhi, the Prime Minister of India. Under the scheme, financial assistance worth Rs 70,000 in plain areas and Rs 75,000 in difficult areas is provided for construction of houses. The houses are allotted in the name of the woman or jointly between husband and wife.
PMO had organized an event where Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath and other BJP delegates were present on the stage and during his speech he spoke about one mother named Ramrati who received a certificate through which she can build her house under government’s expenses.
PM Modi said,”Mother was so happy that after receiving certificate she said, good now the house will be built up and soon children will get married and I will invite you for the marriage.”
The primary aim of this scheme is to ensure that 2 crore houses are built across the nation’s length and breadth. The estimated completion year for the scheme is 2022, which means that these 2 crore homes will be constructed over a period of 7 years. Construction of over 20 lakh affordable houses for urban poor in 4,720 cities and towns has been approved.
